About [fr]ed

Fred was born in a town surrounded by endless green grass, small-town folks and a low population density. As a small child, he moved to a large city paved in concrete, where a larger population and perpetual beautiful weather gave people nothing to whine about, except perhaps each other. This contrast of environments, and the consequences of each, would come to define his sensibilities as a writer and a person.

Today he lives two and a half miles away from the ocean in a city with average property values higher than neighboring Beverly Hills. His work has been published in American Water Intelligence, the Texas Observer, KUT News, the Daily Texan, and DieHardGAMEFAN. One of his stories even made it to a US House of Representatives’ website.

Fred completed an MA in Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Fred holds a BA, dual majoring in Political Science and Arabic from UCLA. He currently works in the trade press, but is available for freelance pieces and projects.
